Abstract

Equations of state such as Soave-Redlich-Kwong (SRK) and Peng-Robinson give thermodynamic properties which can be expanded as analytic power series in density and temperature around the critical point. Although these classical equations are not valid near the critical point, they provide accurate results away from the critical point. Methods for determining power series coefficients were applied to give general expressions for accurate estimation of thermodynamic properties, as explicit functions of temperature, in the vapor-liquid coexistence region away from the critical point. Results for terms up to 10th order in temperature were determined; those which were not impractically lengthy were tabulated here.
