Abstract

The hybrids of potatoes of local selection, cultivated in the mountainous zone of North Ossetia-Alania, which have high productivity and quality, suitable for the food industry, have been identified. The studies were carried out in the mountainous zone as the most favorable for breeding and seed production due to the absence of carriers of potato viruses. The morphological, biological, culinary quality indicators, as well as the resistance of the hybrids to diseases, were assessed on a 9-point scale. It was revealed that all the studied breeding hybrids according to the total score meet the requirements for suitability as table potatoes. The average score for hybrids ranged from 6.0 to 8.5. The highest score - 8.5 - got the hybrid 10.11 / 765 as a high-yielding and marketable, disease-resistant, starchy and non-darkening pulp both in raw and boiled form. Hybrids 10.11 / 527, 12.40 / 62, 10.02 / 1951, 10.11 / 1985, 10.11 / 770, 10.11 / 535 (7.1 - 7.8 points) showed good and excellent results.
