Abstract
The article presents evaluations of computer systems used in the field of logistics. It discusses the general functionality and benefits resulting from their use, as well as conclusions regarding the level of IT systems. The aim of the study is to present information technologies and compare them offered to companies, but also used by logistics operators. The article uses literature analysis and the method of comparative analysis of systems offered by enterprises and logistics operators. A historical outline and current development of the IT systems market are presented. Sustainable market development has forced trends related to IT, ecology and changes in supply chains. The comparative analysis presents similarities and differences in IT systems offered on the market. The article shows the possibilities of IT systems supporting the work of enterprises, from small enterprises to integrated supply chains. It discusses the importance of IT in logistics, presents types of systems from WMS and TMS to ERP, SAP and e-SCM, and their areas of application. There is an increasing demand for comprehensive supply chain solutions for mobile infrastructure networks, including for small, local enterprises and logistics management via internal and external networks. At the same time, investments at a global level among logistics operators will vary in terms of supply chain and market requirements, hence the constant requirement for new network infrastructure and a focus on improving IT networks. Selected technologies and solutions were presented that already exist or may play a significant role in the logistics sector in the future.
