Abstract
This descriptive study was conducted to evaluate internet addiction and depression among university students. The scores of the students on the Internet Addiction Scale were 08.28±21.89, and the scores on the Depression Scale were 14.72±10.58. Internet addiction among students was significantly higher (p<0.05 for each) among students in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, students with high family income, students with large families, students whose parents were university graduates and were employed, students with chronic diseases and students who used the internet more than 13hours each day. A significant positive correlation was found between the level of depression and the level of internet addiction (rs=0.804; p=0.000).
