Abstract

Abstract The following treatment groups were established 31 Mar 1984, on 2 separate mixed-breed beef cattle herds in Montgomery Co, VA: A) Guardian 7.5% ear tag, consisting of 21 adult cows and 16 calves. Each animal received 2 ear tags, one in each ear. Two adult cows, 2 heifers, and 2 steers were used for evaluation. The 6 evaluation animals harbored moderate–heavy infestations of L. vituli, S. capillatus, and B. bovis. B) Untreated control, consisting of 21 adult cows and 16 calves. Six cows, with moderate–heavy infestations of L. vituli, S. capillatus, B. bovis, and H. eurysternus, were used for evaluation.
