Abstract

The isotope shifts of the uranyl chloro complexes on Tri-Butyl Phosphate, Tri-normal Octyl Amine, an anion exchange resin, Dowex 2 × 10 and 8·4 M HCl have been measured by the infrared spectra in the 970−865 cm −1 region. The equilibrium constants of the U(IV)-U(VI) electron exchange reactions have been calculated from the isotope shifts measured and compared with the equilibrium constants which were estimated from the isotopes separation effects in Tri-Butyl Phosphate, Tri-normal Octyl Amine, Dowex 2 × 10 and 8·4 M HCl systems.
