Abstract

In this article, we evaluated the error field caused by magnetization of a large steel-made optical platform of Phase Contrast Imaging (PCI) diagnostic system on the top of the HL-2A tokamak to make sure the relative magnetic perturbation from the equilibrium is below |δB/B|≈10−4, so that it will not cause unwanted mode locking. We have also simulated the inductive currents which are related to thermal effects and electromagnetic force acting on the platform during toroidal field coil current rising and plasma current disruption since there are sensitive optical devices installed on the platform which will be affected by inductive heating and vibration. The results indicate that the electromagnetic interaction between the platform and the tokamak is acceptable.
