Abstract
Today, with the advancement of technology in the context of the smart grid, consumers' energy consumption pattern can be managed by power distributors under certain conditions. The goal is to benefit both consumers and power supply utilities by implementing techniques that are generally called responsive load management. In this paper, the concept of responsive load is implemented on a standard 26-bus IEEE system network that has 4,000 branches and a maximum of 3,000 electric vehicles. The purpose of the proposed approach is to minimize the cost of customer's energy consumption with consideration their waiting time for electric vehicle (EV) charging. The results are calculated for the 20%, 50% and 80% EV penetration levels through the genetic algorithm. In addition, the impact of satisfaction level on the peak load-to-average load ratio is also evaluated.
