Abstract

The retina is the tissue with the highest metabolic need in the body. 90% of the nutrition of the retina is supplied by the choroid. Destruction of the choroid tissue has an important role in the pathogenesis of many chorioretinal diseases. Correct examination of choroidal findings is very important in the diagnosis and treatment processes of these diseases. In the examination of choroidal tissue in clinical practice Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICGA), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and OCT Angiography(OCTA) are used. OCT is a newly emerging technology that is widely available in retinal clinics, offering high-resolution imaging and objective classification. Choroidal findings identified in OCT scans are gaining more and more important in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. The best defined of these findings are Choroidal Thickness (CT) and Choroidal Vascularity Index (CVI).
