Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of two hydrogen peroxide systems for cleaning and disinfecting rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses. Both systems are preservative-free, phosphate buffered, 3.0% hydrogen peroxide formulations, containing a surfactant, and one formulation has additionally advanced wetting agent properties. Hydrogen peroxide lens care systems require a case with platinum disc to neutralize the hydrogen peroxide during disinfection.
