Abstract

This article aims to evaluate the accessibility of the cybermedia in Mexico. For this purpose, the number of reported errors in 1538 Mexican cybermedia is evaluated by means of the TAW tool. Additionally, the Mexican Accessibility Index—MAI is proposed, considering the four types of errors included in the WCAG 2.0. This index is constructed through the combination of the AHP as a weighting method, the LST as the method to standardize and the geometrical aggregation. Some of the main conclusions include the high level of fulfillment of the rule having an average MAI of 94.5% and presenting outstanding results in the principles of operability and understandability of the WCAG 2.0. Moreover, it was stated that the principle of robustness is the one showing the lower levels of fulfillment. The performance presented by www.contrasena.com.mx , which was the cybermedia having the best performance when taking into account these guidelines can be highlighted.
