Abstract

Approaches to the prevention of cavitation in a soil pump at high soil intake rates are analyzed. It is shown that installation of an additional (booster) pump in the underwater part of a suction-type hydraulic-fill pipeline is an optimal approach. As a result of calculations it is found that axial- and diagonal-type booster pumps possess the best energy indicators.
