Abstract
Background: Burning feet, described by sensations of heat, pain, or discomfort in the soles, is a prevalent condition with various causative factors including peripheral neuropathy, diabetes mellitus, vitamin deficiencies, alcohol abuse, and nerve entrapment syndromes. India's Ancient practice gives remedy through herbal like Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha Thailam, formulated with potent herbs like Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Karaveera (Sweet scented olerdner), Dathura (Datura), Adhamtha (Sarasaparilla), Bringaraj(Trilling eclipta) etc,. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of Ashwagandha Thailam on reducing burning sensations in the feet among participants. Materials & Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted involving 175 participants aged 18 and above. Over a 30-day duration, participants used Ashwagandha Thailam, and data collected before and after usage were analyzed using SPSS software, with a paired t-test. Results: Results revealed a significant reduction in burning feet sensations post-Ashwagandha Thailam administration (p < 0.05). Symptoms like numbness, prickling, and tingling in the feet and hands exhibited improvement, alongside decreased sharp, jabbing, throbbing, or burning pain. Moreover, participants demonstrated increased tolerance to touch. Conclusion: These findings suggest that Ashwagandha Thailam holds potential in alleviating burning feet sensations, particularly among individuals.
