Abstract

The study aims at evaluating the hadith textbooks at the intermediate stage in Saudi Arabia in the light of Shariah Purpose. The descriptive analytical approach was used to achieve the study goals, It focuses on hadith textbooks in the intermediate schools only. A three-axis analysis list was used: the primary purpose axis and the decoration axis, and the need axis, covering 106 topics. The validity and reliability of which have been verified. Among the important findings of the study is the poor representation of the Purpose of preservation of mind, life, property and offspring in the students hadith textbooks. In addition, the study textbooks at the intermediate stage proved to include good repetitions for non-core Purpose (embellishments). There was also a weakness implied in the purposes of the need in the books of hadith.
