European Perceptions of the Spanish-American War of 1898

Abstract

Bern, Berlin, Bruxelles, Frankfurt/M., New York, Wien. This book consists of ten essays focussing on reactions in different parts of Europe to the Spanish-American War of 1898. Largely, the concentration is on the work of journalists, publicists, politicians and other self-conscious framers of public opinion. An attempt is also made to discover how such people gained their information on the War, and then tried to place it in their existing perceptions of the United States. Contents: Nico A.
