Mount Ungaran is one of the areas that has natural remaining forests in Central Java. Mount Ungaran and its surroundings have a variety of potential biodiversity. The potential biodiversity that can be utilized by the surrounding community and one of them was used as medicinal plants. The objective of the researched was to analyze the ethnobotany of medicinal plants on the community around Mount Ungaran. Ethnobotany of medicinal plants showed the important role of information from traditional communities regarding efforts to cure various diseases. The study was conducted in 6 (six) villages around Mount Ungaran, such as Banyuwindu, Kalisidi, Sumberrahayu, Ngesrepbalong, Gondang, Kalisidi, and Sriwulan. The time of the study began on April-August 2018. The research used Participatory Rural Appraisal method, which is an assessment process that is oriented to the involvement and role of the community actively in research. The technique of direct interviews was also carried out to the village community, by taking a sample of 25 respondents per village. Data analysis using by descriptive qualitative. The results showed that as many as 35 species of plants were used by the community around Mount Ungaran as a medicinal plant. Plant parts that are utilized were roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds, fruit, and rhizomes. The processing of plants used as medicinal plants in general still uses by traditional methods.
