Abstract
Legal education in England and Wales is undergoing a (potentially) profound reconsideration. Last year the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Bar Standards Board and Ilex Professional Standards launched their Legal Education Training Review (LETR). They argue that the Review is the most extensive focus on legal education and training since the publication of the Ormrod Report in 1971.1 The three frontline regulators have commissioned an independent team of law academics to conduct the research phase of the review. Notably, the team is being led by one of the founding editors of Legal Ethics, Professor Julian Webb, who is joined by a core team of three others: Dr Jane Ching and Professors Paul Maharg and Avrom Sherr.
