Abstract

Pronatalist policies evolved in Ancient times but they have gained popularity also nowadays. The measures, adopted for pronatalist purposes, vary widely: intensive propaganda, cash payments, repression of birth control, conservative abortion laws, migration control, enactment of ‘eugenic laws’, social benefits.
