Abstract

An ethanobotanical survey was conducted among the peoples of Paliyar tribals, Sathuragiri hills of Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu state has brought to a number of 83 plant species from 37 families used by them as a variety of medicines. The parts of the plants such as leaves, stem, fruits, bark, resin, root and seeds were generally used individually or combination with some medicinally important species. The present manuscript investigates with various aspects of the medicinal plants and their ethanomedicinal uses by Paliyar tribal.
