Abstract

Abstract Etching characteristics of fission tracks on the external surface of zircon with low spontaneous track densities have been assessed in order to facilitate more accurate dating of Plio-Pleistocene volcanic rocks. The etched track increment rate due to the prolonged etching factor was experimentally determined and the effects of etching anisotropy was examined.
