Abstract

The article analyzes the performance of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant during the Great Patriotic War. The process of reorganization of the enterprise in 1944, the construction of a new car factory and the preparation for the production of a vehicle with a diesel engine ZIS-253 are considered. It was concluded that the difficulties of wartime, the acute shortage of building materials and labor resources did not allow the full implementation of the project to create a new diesel engine production.
