Abstract

The objective of this work is to describe and characterize the urban social structure of the city of Formosa (argentine northeast), which was transited by the accumulation strategies neodevelopmental in the period 2003-2013. The following dynamics are identified: the universes of analysis, the structure of the urban work force, the composition of the latter by sector of activity, branch of activity and size of the establishment. For that, data from the Permanent Household Survey of the urban conglomerate of Formosa Capital is used. As a result, the persistence of precarious jobs is identified, which fundamentally affect the working class, and marginalized workers linked to multiple expressions of self-employment and unpaid family workers, who develop subsistence labor activities mainly in the branches of commerce and services and, secondly, in construction.
