Abstract
The results of experiments on assessing the mechanical properties, in particular the temperature of the ductilebrittle transition of aluminum matrix composite materials at negative temperatures using the classification of acoustic emission signal pulses, are presented. It is established that this transition is absent at temperatures down to –100 °C and, therefore, it is possible to use aluminum matrix composite materials for the manufacture of suspension elements for equipment operating in Arctic and Antarctic conditions. Keywords aluminum matrix composite materials, mechanical properties, temperature, ductile-brittle transition
