Abstract

All six analyzed microsatellite loci of the poly (CA) type were found to be polymorphic in two warmwater Cherepetskiy carp breeds. The part of heterozygotes at microsatellite alleles in these breeds was high. Cherepetskiy scaly carps (breeders of eleventh selective generation) had 2–8 alleles per locus and 37 alleles in all at six loci. Cherepetskiy frame carps (breeders of ninth selective generation) had 3–7 alleles per locus and 26 alleles in total at six loci. Comparatively low polymorphism level has been revealed for both Cherepetskiy breeds at MFW16 locus. Average allele number per locus of Cherepetskiy scaly carps was markedly greater than that of Cherepetskiy frame carps. This allelic polymorphism factor at Cherepetskiy scaly carps was higher than at Angelinskiy mirror carps, but lower than that of Angelinskiy scaly carps, Zagorsky carps, Moscow Scaly and Moscow Mirror carps, Amur carps and Volga carps, whereas at Cherepetskiy frame carps it was lower than at all breeds and breed groups above. Findings indicated that in both Cherepetskiy carp breeds keep considerable genetic variability level, which is lower for Cherepetskiy frame carp than for Cherepetskiy scaly carp. As opposed to other studied carp groups, Cherepetskiy frame carps had only one amplification product at MFW31 locus.
