ting base~ The operator provides control from an adjacentroom at a distance of 3.5 m by means of the remote-control system. The weights on the loading platforms are changed by means of a lifting and rotating stage located in the housing of the weighing system. The balance arm is constantly in the loaded state, while the locking mechanism operates in such a way that the contact between the prisms and the plates is not affected in any of the manipulations involvingremoving and installing weights for comparison. The automatic reading system RS produces an electrical signal proportional to the limiting deviation I i of the pointer from the zero position. Figure 1 shows the essential scheme for the automatic RS.
