Abstract
The strength of brittle materials of the cermet type can be expressed by the product of two functions, one of which is a function of the tensor invariants of the given material, or of the class of materials, and defines the limiting surface in terms of the principal axes, whereas the second, being a function of the volume of the deformed material and containing some constants, bears a statistical character.
