Abstract

This article aims to describe the relationship between leadership styles and assertive communication styles of university professors. Focused on quantitative research, positivist and descriptive paradigm, 63 teachers from the Initial Education Program of the Rafael María Baralt National Experimental University (UNERMB) were considered. The data collection technique was the survey and the instrument was the questionnaire with the Likert Scale. As a result, in the UNERMB Initial Education Program they are always considered, that is, they always have skills and characteristics that allow them to influence others and guide a group towards achieving common objectives. It is concluded that, regarding Leadership and Assertive Communication Styles, there is a moderately positive correlation between this dimension and assertive communication in the Initial Education Program of the UNERMB, Venezuela, the Rho coefficient (S) 0.210 is demonstrated, with a level of significance 0.001, the same as being < 0.05.
