Abstract
The work carried out a literary analysis of the design of a furnace for melting basalt rock. The analysis showed that, due to the simplicity and low cost of the material, the design of a gas melting furnace (operating on natural gas) is much simpler and cheaper than with electric melting and allows one to obtain a cast basalt-stone composite material. Under laboratory conditions, a laboratory gas melting furnace was created, which makes it possible to obtain new materials based on basalt raw materials, having a monoclinic pyroxene of the diopside-hedenbergite series. This group is the leading one in the composition of cast stone products and makes up from 70 to 95% of the total mass of the casting.
