Abstract

An English spoken mini-corpus for traditional Chinese medicine can be established and used on the basis of data-driving teaching model with teaching procedures of students observation, analysis deduction and oral output to improve students’ spoken English. A total of 60 graduate students from international exchange classin pharmacology of Jiangxi University of traditional Chinese Medicine were divided into the control class and the experimental class randomly with 30 students in each class. The control class were taught by traditional teaching methods while the experimental class were taught by teaching method based on corpus data. The study shows there exists significance difference (P<0.05) between the experimental class and the control class and then indicates that the TCM teaching methods based on the corpus plays a positive role on the TCM English.
