Abstract

This paper aimed to investigate the effect of mobile learning (m-learning) on student satisfaction, as well as internal and external factors affecting the m-learning. In this regard, first the factors that can impact positively or negatively on the m-learning have been investigated, and then, the m-learning impact on student satisfaction has been studied. The “student satisfaction” is an important factor for universities. On the other hand, the interdependence of electronic learning (e-learning) and university has caused growing importance of the concept of m-learning. In terms of data collecting method, this paper has a descriptive survey nature. The statistical population included students of Technical Faculties of Tehran Universities, and a total of 300 students were selected randomly from this population. The data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. The results obtained from this study show that m-learning has a positive impact on student satisfaction and strengthening of m-learning within the university causes an increase in student satisfaction. The factors that universities need to consider in increasing m-learning have also been investigated and as a result of this study, smartphone owners understanding of m-learning and usefulness are among the important factors which should be known. Smartphone owners' understanding of the role of e-learning and their m-learning in the universities has a positive impact on m-learning. Business owners and managers of universities should always be aware of their ethical duties and perform them properly; as this would lead to more appropriate behavior with students and in addition to having a positive effects on m-learning, it also bring about student satisfaction.
