Abstract

The article analyses the work of the famous musician of the first half of the 20th century M. N. Barinova “Essays on the Piano Methods”, which has been repeatedly reprinted. The structure of the work and its main problems are considered. Particular attention is paid to understanding those issues that have not lost their relevance for the current situation in piano teaching. These include the professional demand for pianists and their predisposition to various types of activity, primarily pedagogy.
