Abstract
Abstract Powder of mercury(II) iodide thiocyanate (HgISCN) gives a weak electron spin resonance (ESR) signal at g=2.003 in the dark. When the powder is irradiated, the ESR-signal intensity increases during the exposure. When the light is turned off, the intensity decreases. The ESR-signal may be due to electrons trapped by lattice defects.
