Abstract
The spin lattice coefficients C 11 and C 44 characterizing the crystal field under stress are measured for neutral iron at interstitial sites in silicon. The coefficients are one order of magnitude larger than for Fe 3+ in MgO. Both C 11 and C 44 turn out to be negative.
