Abstract
Tunable wavelength conversion of a 160 Gbit/s signal by means of cascaded sum frequency generation/difference frequency generation was performed on a periodically-poled lithium niobate waveguide. Operation at room temperature (25degC) is demonstrated. A maximum power penalty of 2.1 dB for a bit error rate of 10 -9 was achieved over a wavelength range of 29 nm.
