Abstract

It is thought that the process of early career managers gaining managerial and leadership competencies will eliminate an important deficiency in the field of this study aimed at evaluating the findings. This research was conducted using phenomenological pattern interview technique from qualitative research in order to determine the perceptions of early career managers towards the process of gaining managerial and leadership competencies. After analyzing the data, some categories were created in accordance with the main theme contained in the common expressions. In the tabular form, the findings that constitute the main framework of the research are presented together with the frequency values in accordance with the sub-purposes in the section. In the research conducted, a school principal should have competence and spiritual competence in the field of education and pedagogy as a priority, participants mostly considered their own competencies sufficient for the managerial and leadership competencies that a school principal should have, managers increased their managerial and leadership competencies with in-service trainings the most, it is one of the main results of the research that managers apply to graduate education the most in order to increase their managerial and leadership competencies and receive the most support from universities in this regard.
