Abstract

The research has been carried out in 2015 to determine the yield and yield components of a local genotype cultivated in the region with four commercial bean varieties (Zirve, Gina, Ekselans and Cino) in the Ercis (Van) ecological conditions. The trial has been carried out in three replications according to the randomized blocks trial design. In the study, plant sizes, main branch number, broad bean number , seed number in each broad bean, total seed number of plant, one hundred seed yield, grain yield, the percent of unrefined protein were examined. In the study to research findings plants sizes 43.10-99.55 cm (Ekselans- Local genotype), main branch number 3.20-3.70 number/plant (Gina-Cino), broad bean number 21.0-28.70 number/plant (Local genotype-Ekselans), seed number in each broad bean 3.42-4.08 number/broad bean (Ekselans-Gina), total seed number of plant 72.10-101.70 number/plant (Zirve-Ekselans), one hundred seed weight 40.58-46.76 g (Local genotype-Cino), seed yield 239.59-359.39 kg (Local genotype-Gina), the percent of unrefined protein 18.59-25.22 (Ekselans-Local genotype) were determined. According to our findings, Gina variety, which has the highest value in terms of grain yield, can be recommended for cultivation in the region. However, in order to make a healthier decision, it should be supported with detailed studies based on many environmental and agricultural practices.
