Abstract
Traditional frequency regulation is mainly undertaken by thermal power and hydropower units. With the increasing kinds of the frequency regulation resources are becoming available for the power systems, the performance of different frequency regulation resources varies greatly. It is necessary to consider the performance of different frequency regulation resources in the operation of the power system and the power market. Based on the performance of different frequency regulation resources in primary frequency response, this paper presents a method to calculate equivalent ratio of primary frequency regulation resources considering multi-aspects of frequency profile. Firstly, considering the profile of primary frequency response, frequency profile characteristics considering multi-aspects of frequency profile is analyzed. Then, in order to explore the performance characteristics of different frequency regulation resources, a method for calculation the equivalent ratio of primary frequency regulation resources considering multi-aspects of frequency profile is proposed. Finally, the effects of various parameters on the calculation of equivalent ratio are studied through simulation.
