Abstract

Personal character has gained its popularity in digital platforms. Picking and editing one from a list in a package software, the user can simply create a character for general use. To be more masterly, guided by the specific needs of the user, a character design process helps a professional designer customize the most appropriate character for a precise job. Design thinking is a first - line process in design work, which is based on effective critical thinking, and its framework is user - centered method to solve problems and other activities, while character design process is based on character design methodology, which is employed in customizing a specific character. This study aims to survey common practices in design thinking and character design processes in creating a unique personal character to comprehend the relevance of their methods. The expected result is process of design thinking for effective idea development and productive character design process.
