Abstract
The Persons with Disabilities (PWD) have the same rights to access information from any library as other members do. So, it is the responsibility of libraries and their employees to deliver the appropriate information at the appropriate moment and as fast as feasible. However, it is extremely difficult to provide library services to them since they have a variety of impairments or disabilities that vary from person to person, and they are unable to use library facilities in the same way that regular people do. This article addresses persons with disabilities and the types of disabilities; and also clarifies the services that the librarians and libraries can provide to them. For that various measures have to be taken such as, the procurement of special software to read, write the language understandable by them etc.; and also addresses various library initiatives to provide various services tailored to the requirements of persons with disabilities. It is believed that the study's findings would be beneficial in improving the present services offered by libraries to them, as well as serving as a foundation for creating new services in the rising libraries of the country.
