The Epilogue turns to the circulation of Latin American literature in Arab popular culture and Latin American writers’ further engagements with the Arab world. These connections highlight longstanding ties and materialise in Latin America and the Arab world in the twenty-first century. Turning further away from Orientalism, they draw on historical and political ties between Latin America and the Arab world. This chapter takes a forward look at peripatetic exchange that has burgeoned in the twenty-first century and opens up further routes of circulation of cultural production between Cuba and Egypt, Palestine and Chile.
