Abstract
17 species of sandflies have been found in the endemic area of cutaneous leishmaniasis in the Isfahan area. 4 species have been found infected with leptomonads, all of which are abundant in burrows of Rhombomys, and are regarded as the vectors to man. The leptomonads were infective on subcutaneous injection into mice.
