Abstract
Acute respiratory tract infection (ARTI) is one of the most common infectious diseases in the world. About 90% of pathogens causing ARTI are viruses, while 30% of ARTI pathogens remain unidentified. Recently, many newly discovered respiratory viruses including human metapneumovirus, human bocavirus, human coronavirus NL-63 and HKU1, polyomavirus WU and KI and saffold cardiovirus have been identified to cause ARTI. This article reviews epidemiology of the newly discovered viruses.
