Abstract

Objective To analyze the epidemic situation of brucellosis in Qinghai Province in 2013. Methods In 2013, Ping'an County, Haiyan County, Xinghai County, Tianjun County, Jiuzhi County, Henan County, Dari County, Gonghe County, Qilian County and Maqin County were selected to carry out the investigation in Qinghai Province, 3 - 4 townships in each county was selected as the monitoring sites, and serological test was done in closely contacted people with the livestock who were 6 - 60 years old. According to different regions and population, the trend, distribution and epidemic situation were analyzed using the method of descriptive epidemiology. Results A total of 9 693 people in ten counties of Qinghai Province were monitored, 6 189 people were serologically tested, RBPT detected positive in 119 people, the detection rate was 1.92% (119/6 189), SAT detected positive in 48 people, the detection rate was 0.78% (48/6 189). The infection rate was significantly different between different professions (χ2 = 20.98,P < 0.05), and different national infection rates were significantly different (χ2 = 36.42,P < 0.01). Questionnaire surveyed 2 491 people, with an average witting rate of 17.59%. After χ2 test of gender (χ2 = 26.17,P < 0.01), age groups (χ2 = 160.19,P < 0.01), the national (χ2 = 298.61,P < 0.01), occupation (χ2 = 138.29,P < 0.01), and degree of culture (χ2 = 130.52,P < 0.01), the differences of witting rate among these five factors were statistically significant. Conclusion Outbreak of Brucellosis has significantly increased in Qinghai Province, we should strengthen the surveillance to control the outbreak. Key words: Brucellosis; Epidemic; Cause analysis
