Abstract

Low-dose CT (LDCT) screening for lung cancer has been shown to reduce lung cancer mortality and its implementation is currently being examined and considered across multiple countries. In the United Kingdom (UK), the Targeted Lung Health Checks (TLHC) program has initiated small-scale screening programs across several regions of the country. A significant challenge to implementation is the increased demand for quality-assured radiology reporting, as stipulated by the TLHC service protocols, in order to maximize screening efficacy and reduce potential harm to participants from false-positive and false-negative results.
