Based on the literature review, empirical research has been conducted, supported with interviews with environmental officials from local government units in the Republic of Serbia. The primary conclusion finds collaboration with relevant local and national institutions, support from local government and the presence of the relevant strategic documents at the local level as the main influencing factors.
