Abstract
Abstract Environmental crimes include natural resource crimes, involving the trafficking of valuable natural resources through, for example, the illegal trade in flora and fauna, illegal fishing, and illegal logging, and pollution crimes involves polluting activities such as the smuggling of ozone-depleting substances and the illegal movement and disposal of hazardous waste. This chapter examines a number of these crimes including international, illegal and unregulated fishing (IUU fishing), illegal trading in endangered species, illegal logging, pollution, illegal transboundary movement of hazardous waste, before speculating on the future development of environmental crimes.
