Abstract
Environmental awareness is a matter of concern everywhere especially in developing nation like India. It is important to observe different practices adopted in this direction especially in small scale and medium sized organizations as they have huge potential to contribute to the economy. A systematic review of literature methodology was adopted for this study. A total of 28 articles were studied for methodological and thematic review. Four underlining themes emerged from the extensive review of articles namely, Green Practices, Drivers of Environmental Awareness, Hazardous Practices and CSR activities. Quantitative and mixed approaches were the predominant methodology used in extant literature. Based on methodological and thematic review suggestions for future research have been made. With the focus on small and medium scale organizations and the dynamic business environment in which these organizations operate, qualitative and inductive studies may be required to capture the evolving phenomenon. Additionally, industry specific studies can be conducted to capture environmental/green practices.
