Abstract

The article analyzes the problems of ecological characteristics and economic costs associated with reducing air pollution at cities with harmful emissions from road transport. There was made a comparative analysis of the environmental and economic damage caused by emissions of harmful substances in exhaust gases and the wear of tires and brake mechanisms of road transport. It is offered the effective measures to reduce harmful effects of pollution on passengers and drivers, as well as it is justified the annual motor vehicle tax on road transport.
