Abstract
Analysis of flow in the entrance zone of a sharp-edged channel has been carried out. The method used combines asymptotic solutions in the far upstream and downstream zones with a numerical solution in-between and thus avoids any assumptions regarding the character of the flow at the very entrance. Complete description of the flow field, including flow topology, pressure field and length of the upstream and downstream entrance zones, is given.
