Abstract
In this paper, we have proposed a technique based on Horizontal Projection Profile (HPP) and Entropy for skew detection and correction for the printed Meitei/Meetei script document image which is an important step in the development of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) system for any script. This technique can be used to any script and the orientation of the document. The algorithm is implemented via MATLAB. The precise results of transforming various images with different skew angles at the rage of ± 30° with precision of 0.5° and different levels of complexity is shown.
